Two sides of my style

Last week I was completely stuck in a rut style-wise. I literally wore jeans and different types of simple black tops for three days in a row. It was rather depressing. I'm feeling a bit suffocated style-wise these days. I just seem to open my closet and stare at it blankly for a few minutes before I decide to break out the default jeans and a tee outfit. This post is more of a hark back to the brighter days.

Here is my style summarized into two outfits, worn by two stylish men. The first, my obsession with florals and all things unexpected, the second my more paired back menswear look. The first guy is my new hero, sporting a look from Balenciaga's famous ss 08 womenswear show. I think he makes it look better than many women. I love it when people cross the boundaries.

Great men! The first has also been featured wearing another women's fashion item some time ago, looking similarly great. The balenciaga top kind of gives the silhouette of a football uniform.

I think it is so interesting that you get your fashion inspiration from men and men's style. It is a different point of view that I am so curious about because I am always inspired by your choices, but I wouldn't think of it myself.
Don't worry about your style rut- you are professionally trendy after all!

The problem you describe about starring blankly into your open wardrobe but finding nothing to wear is what happens when you are spoilt for choice. I have this problem too hehe. Don't worry, you'll get over it!

I absolutely love that Balenciaga top - surprisingly, he can pull it off well!I can definitely relate to your style rut - that happens to me sometimes too!

my boyfriend always complains how i can borrow his clothes, but he can't borrow mine. i definitely sway between menswear and ultrafeminity. though the fellow on the right proved that the bf is not necessarily right. i'll have to get some florals on him, ;)

The first guy is such a Balenciaga nut...seriously, he worships at the altar of Ghesquiere....

Anyway, I know what you mean about the contradictory sides.... I'd combine the two though...

i love your blog but how can these dudes be your inspiration????????!!!!

i am quite disturbed to be brutally honest. Their outfits are all wrong. Where on earth did these wallking fashion disasters come from??

I love your style and blog but the guy in the weird floral is too far out for me.

Charlotte: Your post made me giggle. I picked these two gentlemen because their style instantly struck me as being a good summary of the types of trends I'm into. I may make a better post featuring my real and more lasting inspiration sources later.

Terri: I'd love to respond to your tag! I'll get on it right now.
