Re-work It

Sadly, I have many items in my wardrobe that never see the light of day. I would get inspired by a certain pattern or color, take the item home, and then I would be put off by a difficult shape with a not-so-great fit. I wear both of these skirts very rarely. Mainly due to the fact that they have to be worn with heels, otherwise they hit at an unflattering spot on the leg and make me look stumpy. I reworked the blue dress by layering a white cotton skirt underneath and pinning them both together to add a bit of volume. It looks great! But rather dressy. I'll need to find a proper place to wear it.

I like how you have styled the blue dress with the white skirt underneath. It's not too dressy - perfect for dinner and drinks.

The concept of re-working things is a constant topic for me. I have amassed quite an amount of clothing which friends, family and even myself alike agree on that it is impossible to wear every single item as much as it deserved. I am trying, though. And sometimes re-working the most difficult ones is the fun. It does not make sense having a whole closet full of neat things, but always wearing the same, "safe".

I really love the way you reworked the blue skirt, and the pattern of the second one is so gothic and modern! I don't think they look too dressy just to wear out - I would *love* to see people wearing these types of things daily.

I LOVE what you've done with the blue skirt. You are queen of reworking fashion items with just a simple twist.

The blue and white skirt as everyone said is stunning...it reminds me of an old Jonathan Saunders print that I happen to love....
