What I'm Wearing 22.05.09

I haven't made an outfit post in ages! I've basically been living in a variation of skinnies paired with grey, navy, black and beige for the past couple of weeks. Nothing worth posting really. Today it's nice and warm out so I'm finally breaking out my leather skirt. You'd think it would be an ideal item to wear when it's colder, but I've never found a warm enough jacket that balances the fullness of the skirt. I like to wear it during the month-long open window I may get in late spring or late summer, when it isn't too hot or too cold outside.

I broke the outfit into two looks, one for this afternoon and the other to wear out tonight. I'm wearing an Urban Behaviour tank top, vintage skirt and Aldo shoes in the first photo, and the same items but with a Zara dress worn as a top in the second photo. I'm planning to go thrifting in a bit. Hopefully I can find a good jacket to pair directly with the skirt!

I really like the top one, sort of reminds me of a ballet dancer, I think because of the colours.

Ooh, I really like the "night" outfit. You look like a mean ballerina -- of course I meant that in a good way!

the full skirt and demure length is so unexpected for the leather. I love it!

i saw a chick on the skytrain wearing them the other day...of course, i noticed her shoes first and then thought for half a second it was you until i looked up haha

I love that skirt with the nude top. The fullness of the skirt makes it look a lot less whore-ish than a lot of the other vintage leather skirts I've seen at the thrift store, which is a plus in my book.

I love the shoes. And the skirt looks so edgy.

Ack! That skirt is so envy inducing! It's gorgeous & so well done. Plus I think the shoes you chose add a perfect edge. I'm gushing. Sorry!

I love that skirt so much! It's very soft looking, but the fact it's leather makes it very sinister.

for the first photo, i think you could have added a bit of playfulness to the outfit by pulling all your hair in a side plait :)

That skirt is epic! I have one that's a tighter mini, and I find it hard to wear without looking skeezy, but your skirt is awfully cute!

The thought of a voluminous leather skirt wasn't something I would ever consider but after looking at your outfits, it wouldn't be too hard to incorporate them into any wardrobe. but yes, I can see what you mean about pairing it with a jacket. I picture a broad-shouldered cropped jacket.

I love this look.

It's like the ballerina-meets-the-rock'n'roll look. Very cool and creative get-up.

GORGEOUS skirt, love how you're wearing it, both pics!
it's fun to find leather items in unexpected styles, such as your full skirt, instead of the usual tight leather mini, for example. i recently scored a black backless suede 80s dress, which i cannot wait to wear!!
