A Monster Only I Could Love

Sometimes I really don't know how to explain my choices. This monstrosity of a sweater caught my eye last night, and I rushed back to the store today hoping that it would still be there. Of course it was still there! Who else would buy this thing? That said, I'm very much in love with the crazy prints and frayed edges. The styling for this particular photo is a bit lacking, but I'm sure I can pull of something more interesting as I work the sweater in with the rest of my wardrobe.

I just discovered your blog, and am really enjoying how you put your outfits together (and wonderfully photographed they are).

And I can totally understand this sweater, it's one of those "so bad it's good" things. It looks comfortable too.

Sometimes my best friend will buy something from a thrift store which will leave me shaking my head in a confused manner. I'm pretty sure, I've left her in the exact same state. That's why we're cool. We (you included) don't need anyone's approval to rock it. Rock your horrible 80's sweater proudly, dear. (PS- Somehow, you manage to make it work)

Oh and also, I put the finished product from the Obama freelance gig on my blog. It's actually kind of funny, especially since the last part was unscripted.

I'm really impressed with how you pair pieces together and your sense of style. It just looks so effortless, yet chic.

I love to take on "ugly" pieces like this and try to make them work so I completely understand you! The sweater is SWEET. The scarf looks so natural with it that it almost looks like part of the sweater.

I love the scarf and sweater combo. Looks great. Where did you get the sweater from?

i think i'm in love! it's great that you paired it with that checkered scarf too - it's print on print but somehow it tones the sweater down a little. awesome!

There's something, especially about our dressing, which you CAN NOT explain to others... This sweater is really strange, remember me when I was 3, but you wear it very well!!

It looks especially great with the scarf - the more patterns going on the better!

Is it horrible that I don't think this is "ugly awesome", but just awesome?

Good find!

It looks great! I am obsessed with skinny belts and I think they really tie a look together. I love the fringed scarf. Check out look book who just did a post about it :)

I can't wear this look, I envy you because you make it look so effortless. Love it.

i love the mix of prints! the fact that it's a nit sweater kind of just makes things work. and the belt has really nice detailing on it. you were good to get back and snatch that thing up! someone else may never have spotted its potential.
