Oh Deer! ... Oh Dear, You Fail

So at precisely one o'clock this afternoon I ran off to the post office to go pickup my package from Solestruck.com. I was extremely excited when Danielle contacted me a couple of weeks ago and said that I could pick any pair of shoes they carry, I was completely over the moon. I decided to go big or go home, and chose this pair of Alaia-like heels from Oh Deer.

So the good news is, I got the shoes. The bad news is, they fit HORRIBLY. Firstly, the loops at the top stand about an inch away from my foot, and the loop near the toes is even off-side and uncentred. They're all loose and wiggly and I can't walk in them. I am so disappointed and reminded once again why I don't normally order big things online.

So my options are:
1) Return them, and ask for a different pair (but I can only reach Danielle on Tuesdays and I don't want to sound demanding when it was technically a free pair of shoes... with taxes... darn you government!)
2) Try to somehow have them taken in at a shoe repair shop. Is this even possible? Can they take out the straps that attach to the sole and make them shorter? Does anyone know how much this would cost?
3) Just give them away. FML.

So yeah, thanks Danielle and Solestruck for being such angels! But it's too bad it didn't work out.

For now I'll just mourn by burying myself in my Human Resources textbook. FML X 2

Can you put on some big colourful stockings to make them snug? Then you'd have some winter time shoes!

No I even tried them on with huge wooly socks and there is still a big gap at the sides.

i am cracking up, but i am so sorry. i love shopping on line, but i think i have about a 50/50 shot of actually keeping what i buy. MADDENING!!! and it is so fun and exciting to get packages, and the letdown is horrific if/when it doesn't work out.

i hope you land a better pair of shoes that fit. boo. i hope!

I think you should just ask Danielle for a different pair, I'm sure she'd understand as long as you're not a brat about it hahah :p

oh no! They'll probably let you trade them in... But, drat! I just got mine yesterday too (Seychelles) and they fit really well, but I went for brand familiarity as I have another pair of Seychelles that are super comfy. I almost went for Oh deers, but I'd never heard of them before...

I have the same problem with ordering shoes online!! They always look so amazing online but when you get them home the fit is always a bit off! Sad sad day. At least it's warm enough in Vancouver for sandals...its still freezing here in Toronto :)

IMO return them and tell Danielle how you feel about it. I'm sure she would like to hear from you, it's like giving a "customer feedback/review"! Plus you don't want the poor pair of cute shoes to just collect dust in your closet... right?!?

in the case you decide to keep them... the straps can not be safely removed and attached, but the loops can be disconnected in the middle and pulled so that they overlap, they can be than stitched and maybe decorated with studs for example. and this sort of repair shouldn't cost a lot neither. good luck with them!

Mmmmmh Frankly What a pity You can't walk with such "fetish fineries" !!!! The mix Black color / fashionista's toes sublimated by a GLAMorous RED polish is "fetishistically" Bewitching . . .

I have the same exact problem. I bought the same shoes in nude from steve madden-also online- and I have been wondering how to fix it for a month now. Mine were on clearance so there are no returns :( If you fix them I would love you to post the end result!
